As of December 24, 2024, CHN Energy has exceeded its annual heating target by reaching a total heating volume of 540 million GJ, seven days ahead of schedule. This marks a 6.7% year-on-year increase.

In the heating sector, the Group has actively advanced its CHN Energy Heating brand, making significant strides in market development, industry benchmarking and customer service. In 2024, the Group completed the retrofit of 11.9 million kilowatts of heating units, adding 3,722 MW of new capacity. This effort is part of its ongoing expansion of clean heating solutions. The Group's total heating capacity now stands at 130 million kilowatts, with heating coverage extending over 900 million square meters. This annual effort is expected to replace approximately 34 million tons of inefficient and highly polluting coal.

CHN Energy is committed to its heartwarming service philosophy, which focuses on improving heating efficiency and service quality. The Group has developed a smart heating system designed to optimize both energy use and customer experience. In 2024, it increased its heating coverage by an additional 77.31 million square meters. Notably, CHN Energy Ningxia Branch, through upgrades at its Lingwu facility, has pioneered the East Heat West Transfer model, which provides centralized heating to Yinchuan City. Lingwu’s heating area has now surpassed 70 million square meters, making it the largest cogeneration facility in China by heating area. Additionally, its Feixian facility in Shandong province has completed a 45.4-kilometer long-distance heating project, benefiting 210,000 households with 19 million square meters of heating areas in the Yimeng region.

CHN Energy views high-quality heating as an essential pillar of its strategic development. By capitalizing on favorable policy opportunities and aligning with government plans, the Group is driving the development and modernization of heating infrastructure tailored to local needs. In 2024, the Group added 147 new industrial heating clients. Jiangsu Branch has also leveraged its resource advantages to implement long-distance heating demonstrations, creating multiple heating hubs that provide cross-district services. The total length of the heating network has now expanded to 283 kilometers.

As part of its efforts to modernize the heating industry, CHN Energy  is integrating digital technologies. Through its ePower online platform, the Group offers digital services to heating customers, ensuring transparency, convenience and efficiency. Additionally, the Group is investing in advanced technologies such as long-distance, large-temperature-difference intelligent heating, thermal power decoupling and waste heat recovery. These innovations are strengthening the Group’s core competitiveness and driving the high-quality development of the heating sector.
